Akanimo Udofia

Managing Director

Akan Udofia is the Managing Director of Desicon Engineering Limited.

Having graduated from the University of Uyo and Havard Business School, Boston his entrepreneurial skill has seen him grow to the pinnacle of his industry.

With over 30 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria, Akan continues to maintain the responsibility for the overall growth, strategy and performance of Desicon Engineering and Saidel Limited. He has successfully orchestrated numerous projects and partnerships with several international companies in the Oil and Gas sector, leading to the successful award and completion of projects.

As an active philanthropist Akan believes strongly in giving back to society. As an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, he has put together medical drives, water projects and is currently advocating for a light up Akwa Ibom Project and continues to be passionate about job creation and capacity development for the people of Nigeria.

Akan is happily married with three daughters and enjoys football, travelling and Formula 1.

Tomy John

Deputy Managing Director

Tomy John serves as the Deputy Managing Director of Desicon Engineering Limited.

Graduating from Kerala University with a bachelor’s in Commence, he went on to obtain his MBA at the University of South Australia. He is a certified management accountant from the Institute of Management Accountants and an associate member of the Institute of Cost & Executive Accountants London.

Beginning his career in 1986, as a project accountant with Saipem SpA Yemen, he rose to the position of an Administration, Finance & Control Coordinator and in 2009 became a member of the Board of Directors of Saipem Group of Companies, Nigeria.

With over 30 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, Tomy joined Desicon Engineering Limited in November 2013 as the Group Finance Director and was promoted to Deputy Managing Director in 2014. Here he has strategized the company by positioning it to be a front runner in the industry. He has also formulated policies and introduced business process, re-engineering systems that will help the company assume an unbiased and firm stance in the evolving global oil market.

Tomy is happily married with two sons and enjoys reading, cycling and walking in the countryside with his canine friends.

Datonye Alabraba

Strategy, Planning & JV Director

Datonye Alabraba is the Strategy, Planning and JV Director for Desicon Engineering Limited.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying from the University of Salford, Manchester and earned his MBA from the University of Cardiff, Wales.

Datonye began his career in 1999 with Balfour Beatty as a quantity surveyor and successfully worked his way up to become a project quantity surveyor on a £30m project. Following this he joined Rider Hunt International as a cost engineer, working on all aspects of estimating, quantity surveying, project controls and contract administration focused on the Oil & Gas sector. He has extensive experience within the areas of project controls, system design, implementation and contract management. Working as a senior cost engineer for numerous IOCs he has been an integral part of various multi-billion dollar onshore/offshore projects.

Joining Desicon in 2010 as the Director of Projects he oversaw the implementation of control processes. In line with the company’s growth plan Datonye took on the role of Strategy, Planning and JV Director and is now responsible for Desicon’s interest in new ventures.

Datonye is married with two children and is a keen Formula 1 fan.

Eyitemi Sule

General Counsel

Eyitemi Sule is the General Counsel for Desicon Engineering Limited.

She is a graduate of Law from the University of Lagos and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Nigeria.

Eyitemi started her career in the law firm Babalakin & Co, where she quickly rose in the ranks to the position of senior associate. In 2012 she went on to join Saipem Contracting Nigeria Limited as the Nigerian Content Manager. Here she managed the Nigerian Content compliance on major projects such as Usan, Northern Option Pipeline Project and EGINA SURF Project for Total, as well as the Southern Swamp Associated Gas Pipeline Project for SPDC. In these roles, she acquired skills such as public speaking, negotiation, contract administration, public relations management, corporate strategy planning.

In 2015 Eyitemi joined Desicon Engineering Limited as the Local Content and Sustainability Manager. Here she was responsible for the development of sustainability policy, local content plan and custodian of approved plan with consistent implementation and monitoring of strategies agreed for Desicon. Upon being appointed as the General Counsel in 2019, she is now responsible for compliance, review of legal and contractual documentation to manage the impact of external factors and limit Desicon’s risk exposure.

She is happily married with three children and enjoys listening to music, walking and travelling.
